VH1 doing Tribute to Hughes

Finally!

If you find yourself home this Friday night (January 15), tune into the Critics' Choice Movie Awards on VH1. The awards show is going to feature a much-deserved John Hughes Tribute and Death Cab for Cutie will be one of the bands participating. Word on the street is that they will be covering the Simple Minds song, "Don't You (Forget About Me)".

Can't wait to see it.

  1. i'm so appreciative of you guys for making this documentary. i've read a lot about it in different places recently (australia's 'frankie' magazine, for example), and have read through all your blog posts and watched all the videos.
i was born in 1990 and saw the breakfast club when i was 10 years old. john hughes instantly became my favourite director (though i didn't really know what the title meant then).
thank you so much for this film, i can't to get my hands on a copy.
speaking of which, is there an australian release date yet?
and, i'm sure this isn't news to you, but i recently read a great written anthology of short stories by people who've been inspired by hughes' films. it's also called "don't you forget about me". that, combined with your blog, has had me re-living all the hughes magic. thanks again.

  2. Didn't MTV already do a tribute to Breakfast Club with Molly and Ally on the red carpet? Think it was the movie awards, last year or 2008?
